If you are thinking about building a custom home in Boise, or one of the surrounding communities like Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Star, Middleton, or Emmett Idaho, then keep reading –  this list might help you.  In no specific order, we’ll list six popular and commonly requested home features asked for by our clients.  Maybe this list will inspire you, or give you ideas for your own custom home project!

6.  Outdoor Living / Kitchen Areas

A custom home is worth showing off, and what could be better than hosting the big game or a bbq in a custom outdoor living space.  We’ve build custom outdoor spaces that include full kitchens and bars, firepits, covered patios, and more.

5.  Fireplace

Adding a fireplace to a living area increases the warmth of the room, and we don’t mean just the temperature.   A fireplace can be a visually appealing and inviting custom home feature.

4.  Custom Woodwork/Barn Door

Barn doors, fireplace mantles, and even home exterior details, are just a few of the ways custom wood details can be incorporated into your custom home.   We work with some of the best craftsmen in Boise, so no matter what custom wood details you want, we can make it happen.

3.  Lots Of Storage Space/Mud Rooms

Without fail, almost every client we work with wants to incorporate as much storage space as possible. We couldn’t agree more, so we look for ways to convert unused nooks and crannies into usable storage space. Walk-in closets, built-in shelves, and storage compartments are desirable features that always come in handy. Large laundry and mud rooms are always high on the “must have” list for many homeowners. Mudrooms or transitional entries can keep the clutter, dirt, and mud at bay. Take advantage of the racks, hooks, bids, and drawers, to keep the rest of the house clean and clutter free.

2.  Open Design/Floor Plan

Open designs are popular because they provide the space to entertain and the flexibility to arrange the space according to your specific tastes.   Open floor plan designs make the home interior feel bigger, allow for more natural light, and as a bonus they can even be less expenive to build!

1.  A Rural Setting

We’ll build your custom home anywhere you choose, but we get many clients that are looking to trade the traffic, noise, and crime, for a more tranquil place to live.  Click here to read more about what you need to know about building in rural areas.   If you’d like to have a little more privacy, ditch the strict HOA’s, or just want a few miles between you and the closest neighbor, give us a call, and we’ll show you some great areas to consider.
